KARI ANN GREGORY
A hostess with a flair for entertaining. Kari Gregory has hopes for a reality show. But it’s neither “Top Chef” nor “The Next Food Network Star.”
She’d
like her national television audience to tune into “The Next NCAA Champions,” a series that concludes in Sacramento, Calif., in mid-December. Her recipe for a five-star meal would result in Hawaii’s fifth national title.
“I have a good feeling about this year,” Gregory said. “I don’t have a doubt in my mind that this is going to be a great season.
“The attitude in the gym is very similar to my freshman year (2004), when we were undefeated (until the regional semifinal). Everyone is working really hard in the gym. There’s not a lot of individuals out there, which is important in creating a ‘team.’”
She has plenty of experience in that category as the public relations officer and operations manager for her father’s hydroplane racing team. Gregory likens the Rainbow Wahine to her dad’s U-10, “the fastest boat in the water right now,” the middle blocker said.
“It’s an unlimited. It’s how I see our team.”
