CAROLINE JEANNETTE BLOOD

It wasn’t the original design for her senior season. She thought it would be playing out on the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. Instead, it will be at the Stan Sheriff Center.

“I came to all of the (volleyball) games when I was a freshman,” said Blood, on the UH softball team for a year before switching sports. “It made me want to be part of it.

“Not playing much (13 matches in three years) is obviously a character-building experience. But I know there’s a lot of people who couldn’t have done what I did. It makes me proud of myself.”

As for this season?

“I think we’ll be good enough to go even further than the last four years,” the middle blocker said. “It’s my last chance as a senior. I’m hoping to get more opportunities to contribute. Regardless, it’s been fun.”

MAJOR: Graphic design.

WHAT I’LL MISS MOST ABOUT BEING A WAHINE: Is the team camaraderie and passion and love of the game that fuels me with energy and happiness.

FAVORITE UH PLAYING MEMORY: Being errorless throughout my career and maintaining my 1.000 hitting percentage until it got taken away at the WAC tourney last season (when a blocking attempt was counted as a hitting attempt). I’m still 1.000 in my mind.
